These Anglo Saxon stones were reproduced for Preston Hall Museum. The original stones were laser scanned and then machined out of model board. The masters were then molded and the casts were made with a mixture of resin and stone to give an authentic finish. It is virtually impossible to tell the difference between the original and the reproduction copy's apart from the fact the reproductions are a lot lighter to handle when moving around the museum. This technique is very effective for outdoor use, with the application of live yogurt a healthy covering of green mould and lichen will grow.
